Reinforcing steel is steel bars used as a tension device in reinforced concrete structures to strengthen and aid the concrete under tension. The structural engineer on the project will issue a steel layout for a specific slab, raft stairs etc. Steel will be fixed according the steel layout once fixed the engineer inspects the steel and issue an engineer’s certificate.
